Lucky’s Golden Mile – May 25, 2019

Our community needs us!

Date: May 25, 2019

Lucky’s Lake Swim will be hosting the inaugural Lucky’s Golden Mile, as well as hosting the GSS American Championships!

Lucky’s Lake Swim is celebrating over 30 years of fun and inclusive swimming at the landmark daily swim in Lake Cane. In fact, all the proceeds from the race go to the Lake Cane Restoration Society, to keep the lake clean and safe for swimming.

The goal of doing Lucky’s Lake Swim for all these years has been to create a fun and exciting open water swim for swimmers of all abilities, from newbies to Olympians.

Now, to take this philosophy further, they have created a new race, sure to attract the same wide variety of swimmers. One feature that is sure to bring in some of the fastest swimmers from all over the world is the REAL Gold and Silver medals for the overall winners!

In fact, the actual gold content in each Gold medal is double the amount of gold in an Olympic gold medal. And the Silver medals are even 16 Troy ounces of sterling silver.

And just in case you aren’t a current Olympic star, there will also be Gold and Silver medals for the first ever “Swimmer of the Ages” division (an age-handicapped division)!

So not only do you have a chance to be a Gold medal champion, an age group winner, with awards for first through third, but you will also have a chance to be the GSS American Champion too!

But don’t worry if you aren’t there for the hardware or titles, there will also be plenty of other SWAG, fun and activities for everyone!  It will also just be a lot of fun to swim with some of the fastest swimmers anywhere!

Lucky’s Golden Mile is an annual event, and the race is capped at 300 swimmers… so enter now, it is sure to sell out quickly!

I hope to have the entire representation of the club at this event.
